Here we go…

Okay.  It’s yet another blog for me to keep updated.  Fellow knitters have asked why there isn’t one and followed up with a “well, you should.”  (I’m not actually sure why anyone would want to read me blathering on about knitting, though.)  But sooner or later, I have to start making money again (if you’re just joining the rather long-winded story of my life…I’ll explain later), so I guess this is the first step towards “monetizing” my latest craft.  Oh, hooray.  Hopefully it won’t bleed all the joy and creativity and fun out of it.

I don’t much like the header on this WordPress design (it’s too long! you have to scroll down to actually read anything!), but I like the cat and the yarn and the color, and it’ll do until I can get it together to fix the CSS file, the graphic, and all that.  (I’ve fixed the size of the pic, but of course sooner or later need to do another graphic.) (Okay, I’ve now taken a picture of a ball of Donegal yarn on a rock overlooking Dingle Bay.  I figure I’ll take a new pic every time we change location.)  So expect some changes to the blog design soon, for a given definition of “soon.”

So.  I’m looking forward to getting to know anyone who’s daft enough to actually read this thing regularly.

This is looking great! I am visiting my friend, Jules in MA. We are searching around looking at fun things and of course, I got to see your new blog!

I so agree about being a yarn snob (me too). Plus it gives me great liberty to buy upscale stuff :)) But I love to buy things that have re-cycled properties to it or organic qualities.

Ooh, thanks for taking a look, Kim! How cool you’re my first comment!

I like recycled things too, it makes you feel so virtuous as well as the pleasing New Stuff effect! I was quite disappointed to hear that, nutritionally, there appears to be no real advantage to organic foodstuffs, but organic products make me feel like I’m helping to take care of the planet, as anyone who’s seen the difference in the soil of an organically farmed soil to a chemically farmed soil can generally say. (I love compost!)

Yeah, I read that too (this past weekend)and I agree with Michael Pollan (love his books) that, if you can, eat locally first, organic second, if it is not too far away (carbon footprint and all that), and pick and choose from the rest. I am spoiled, I must admit, to living in OR where I have a lot of choices and lots of farmer’s markets. If I lived in the midwest, I would have to make choices there.
