We all have ‘em. You can’t stand to just throw them out. But there’s just not enough of them left to really do anything with.
Our most precious yarns: once you’ve finished the project, you often have a little tiny ball left, and you can’t bring yourself to, well, throw it out. (Ouch. That hurt.) They might be cashmere, they might be silk, they might be alpaca, or even just a beautiful color or color combination that you can’t bear to think of in the trash. So…
You take some fusible interfacing and pin it onto a cardboard “loom”. Thread your “loom” with pearl cotton. Then take your favorite yarns and start weaving!
Veeery clever, and oh such a good way to use up those scraps you can’t bear to throw out and that there just isn’t enough of to make anything else out of.
Make a fine, delicate fabric of subtle color combinations from those laceweights. Or make a rustic, rough-textured fabric of bright, thick and thin handspun. Or any other fabric that the yarn leads you to!
Now. What’re you going to make with your new fabric? (How about a purse to go with all those projects you’ve finished? Instant not-too-matchy-matchy!)

Lovely idea. I may even still have some fusible interfacing from my quilting days around here somewhere.
Isn’t it just? I’m really looking forward to trying it!
Neat! I’ve only just started spinning. Also picking knitting and crochet up again. And I do hate not knowing what to do with those little bitty ends! This is great!
Yup — I’m actually looking forward to when I have enough ends gathered together to start doing some of it, now!
Wow, Zina! This is a cool idea – thanks for the suggestion! I’ve always wanted to try weaving, and this looks like a “quickie” way to test it out. :-)
