Blogging from the iPad

So…right now I’m figuring out how to blog from the iPad. The most promising app I’ve found thus far is BlogPress, which allows easy posting of pictures, but which function (along with URL links) doesn’t seem to be working for me yet.

Here’s a photo from off my iPad:

It should be on the left, with a thumbnail at 300×300. I’m not sure if there’s anything that can be done about the lack of ability to add the photo to WordPress’s photo albums, which is what my theme uses for the picture on the front page of the blog. I may have to give in and put up with logging into a computer that I keep up and running at all times when I’m traveling and use LogMeIn, but that sort of negates what I want the iPad for.

(BTW, isn’t that a beautiful boiled wool coat? It’s by Two Dog Star, and I’m thinking of copying it for myself.)

This post is a test so I can show the developer what I get when posting a pic and links. I think BlogPress is possibly leaving out a bracket somewhere…

Anyway, pretend you didn’t see this, k?

So on the one hand you’re having a problem with posting pictures. On the upside you’ve got an iPad :) Good for you. I look forward to all that you’ll be posting about the iPad and all the various apps you’ll review. (have also provided husband with your blog link. LOL)

Yes, it’s absolutely fabulous. Soooo much lighter than my poor aging MacBook! So much easier to use for stuff than my iPhone! It’s possible I may have gotten too much memory, though, as I’m considering cloud computing so I can share stuff and track versions more easily with both myself and others…

Well, I think I more or less have the workarounds figured out except for one last thing: the photos on the front page. I need to find a good app for getting onto my home computer.

Mind you, I’m hoping that by the time I need to really blog from the iPad, either someone will have come up with a true WordPress/iPad compatible app, or I’ll have a new blog theme in place…

I can do everything on the Knit Picks website except post my blog. It’s a Ning website. When I click on the blog box, it thinks I want to copy the empty box. So I have to crank up the gimpy laptop for posting my blog. That’s all I use it for these days! I think Ning will get the problem fixed, but in the meantime, the laptop better not die!
